Pavan Naik rushed to the spot when he got a call a big cobra was spotted in the farm near Kumta. For his surprise it turned out to be a rare King Cobra, it was about 15 feet long. He safely rescued it and released it in the wild. Pavan Naik has so far rescued more than 2000 snakes.
King cobra rarely comes near the human habitat. Some times it is called as Nagini. People believe it can recognise people and take vengeance if it is hurt. Vengence part is totally untrue, but the king cobra has the biggest brain among the snakes and can recognise objects better.
Although less poisonous than the Indian cobra, the amount of poison it releases in one bite can kill 200 people or a fully grown elephant.
