As kids we loved his batting and fielding particularly. And then his left arm off spin. Waw. Yuvraj Singh was one of the greatest match winners India had in their limited overs side. 6 sixes in an over of Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup will always be the best Yuvi Paa moment for me.
Apart from that there are many more great memories of his magical knocks.
His match winning knock of 84(80) vs Australia at Nairobi in 2000 in the ICC Champions trophy was awesome. He had just arrived to international cricket as a 19 year old. And those days Aussie team was a very tough side to beat.
His 69(63) vs England in the final of the Natwest trophy 2002 was another great innings. Along with Mohammad Kaif he scripted one of India's greatest run chase ever.
But for me his best ODI knock was his 139 vs Australia at Sydney, 2004. It was far superior than his other knocks. Although its tough to pick one or two best innings when he has played so many brilliant knocks.
He was one of the main reason why India won 2007 T20 World Cup & also 2011 World Cup.
Fought cancer & came back strongly for a while. A fighter. "Never say die" kind of spirit in him. Always gave it back to the opposition. Aggressive mindset. Was a treat to watch him play.
Its 2020 now. Time flies so quickly. Life is like that. That era is now over. But we were blessed to have witnessed that era.
Thanks Yuvi Paa for all the great moments.
