Great thought was given to the construction of this gate. There is a big wall a few feet in front of the gate. This allows elephants and soldiers (during enemy attacks) to run and break down doors. Avoided getting proper ramp.
Golkonda Fort is known for its magical sound system. The highest point of the fort is "Bala Hissar", which is located one kilometer away. Inside the fort, palaces, factories, a water supply system and the famous "monk" cannon are the focus of some special attention.
It is believed that there is a secret tunnel that exits the "court hall" and ends at a palace at the foot of the hill. The fort also contains the tombs of Qutb Shahi kings. These tombs have Islamic architecture and are located 1 km (0.62 mi) north of the outer wall of Golkonda. They are surrounded by beautiful gardens and many magnificent carved stones. It is also believed to have been a secret tunnel for Charminar.
The two individual pavilions on the outskirts of Golkonda are also a major attraction of the fort. It is built on a point that is quite rocky. The fort also houses the "Black Temple". It can be seen from the king's court (Shah's court) which was at the top of Golkonda fort.
The other buildings found inside the fort are:
Abyssinian Commons (Abyssinian arches), Ashla Khana, Tramati Mosque, Ramdas Bandikhana, Camel Stable, Private Aiwan (KW), Mortuary Ghusl, Nigina Bagh, Ramasa's Room, Darbar Hall, Amber House etc.
The royal structure has beautiful palaces and a modern water supply system. Sadly, the unique architecture of the fort is now losing its focus.
The ventilation of the fort is absolutely superb with foreign designs. They were designed so that cool air could reach the interior of the fort to provide respite from the scorching heat.
The main gates of the fort are decorated with large iron signs. These spikes prevented the elephants from damaging the fort. Golkonda Fort is 11 km (6.8 miles) surrounded by an outer wall. It was built to strengthen the fort.
There is a guide map at the entrance of Golkonda Fort, with the help of this guide map one can visit all the places of Golkonda Fo
