In this project we propose to design a gas leakage detection system and provide safe cut-off of LPG in the event of a leakage in domestic households. This project mainly aims at creating a system to detect LPG leakages and cut-off the supply in order to prevent leakage incidents at domestic households. The system uses a sensor and in the event of leakage the system senses the gas leak and the gas is cut-off hence preventing any damage to the surroundings. Once the gas source is cut-off the user is alerted about the leakage. The system will be easy to use and will have less maintenance costs. The system will be helpful to detect gas leakages in domestic households and avoid gas related accidents. The system requires less maintenance and servicing. The cost of the machine will also be comparatively very low compared. As electrical components are used in the system it rules out chances of mechanical failure and will be highly accurate.
LPG leakage related accidents have been on the rise constantly for the past decade. There is no proper product in the market to avoid LPG related accidents. There are a lot of cases where there is a mechanical failure in the gas regulators. Also, the common public generally handle the LPG source in an improper manner due to lack of knowledge and awareness about the product. In this type of mechanical lifestyle that the world leads people tend to neglect the concept of LPG safety and maintenance. A system was in the need for the protection of consumers in the case of LPG leakage related incidents
Over long periods of time various researchers have developed different prototypes but there has been no product brought out to the market which provides an Automatic Gas leakage detection and Cut-off system
