King of poets
If Indo-Islamic architecture diminished the heights of greatness, then literary activities were on the rise even during the Qutb Shahi period. And Maula Asadullah Wajhi, without participation, was prominent in literature. The fifth king, a contemporary of Muhammad Qali Qutb Shah, had the honor of being Malik Hum Shur (King of Poets).
The unique thing about Wajhi is that he can easily write both poetry and prose. Apart from Deccani, he was also an expert in Persian and has left a great deal of literature in this language. In fact, researchers discovered his real name to be Asadullah in his Persian poetry while using Waji as an imaginary (pen name). This great poet witnessed the rule of four kings. He was born in Golkonda during the reign of Ibrahim Qutb Shah, while his poetry flourished during the reign of his son Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. However, Wajhi faded away and was almost forgotten by Muhammad Qutb Shah, the nephew of the Hyderabad founder, when he came to power. When Abdullah Qutb Shah became king again, he gained access to the royal court.
Wajhi's literary works also include the legendary poem Qutb Mushtari. In addition, he wrote a fantasy story for Subras. It has a unique place in Urdu literature as it is the first story in prose which is non-religious in character. Wajhi has presented everyday events and morals and ethical values with such skill that Sabra deserves to be a literary essay. His second book, Prose Taj-ul-Haq, is about Sufism. These works are among the earliest examples of Deccani Urdu.
Maqbam Press has given a detailed account of Qutb Shah's hostility to Bhagmati. Ancient Urdu books are considered to be one of the best books for its symbolic expression, beautiful style and thoughtfulness. Masnavi, which runs on more than a thousand verses, was written in 1609 in just 12 days. In this poem, Waji Badshah's beloved is named Mostari after the Bengali princess, just to divert his attention from Bhagmati. A study of this poem also evokes memories of the Qutb Shahi family as it sheds light on various aspects of life these days.
In the Bollywood presentation, Waji has put forward a good argument that he has composed good poetry. That said, the verse should be simple and easy to understand. It should have a unique flavor and aroma with the words and their imports that impress the perfect bond. If the verse does not draw the strings of the heart and fails to move the listeners, then it is of no use.
The words spoken by Barbat were complicated
Well, Cellis said one thing
In his poems, Waji takes a shot from his contemporaries, especially from Gwai, who were growing in popularity. He also praised the Deccan region in Masnavi. His descriptive description of Telangana is still popular today. Sample of this verse:
Deccan is not like Thar Sansar Main Banj Fazlan's is important is Deccan is Nagina, ring is Jug ring to Harmat Nigina Hai Lag Deccan Malik who is decorated with music
Compared to the Deccan, there is no place on earth.
Indeed, it has produced many intellectuals.
Deccan is a gem, the world is a ring.
And indeed, that is the essence of it all.
The Deccan nation became famous for its amazing splendor.
All other nations wear the Deccan in the form of a crown.
Deccan - Amazing Shining Land,
And indeed Telangana is the essence of it (Sajjad Shahid)
However, despite the royal patronage, he enjoyed it, losing the Wajhi grace during the reign of King Muhammad Qutb Shah VI. In one of his ghazals, Waji is saddened by his fate and grieving financial trouble. There were days when he almost starved but maintained his dignity and refused to help. This touching poem clearly captures his bad times.
It's a shame to burn. Be in love. We've stopped. We've come across the butterfly's footsteps.
Wajhi's last abode is believed to be in the precincts of the shrine of the Sufi saint Hazrat Barhana Shah in Hyderabad. However, no one has yet been able to identify his grave.
