Watched the movie Pailwaan (Kannada). The film is a clean family entertainer. A high-octane action film with a sports backdrop, it features an outstanding performance from Kiccha Sudeep who is the heart & soul of the film. As usual he has delivered yet another spectacular performance.
The director has packaged a lot of action, family emotions & a strong message in this film. It resonates the most in the second half where some sequences hit you hard & even make you cry. It made me cry too. But I am an over emotional guy as everyone knows. So it just happened.
Fight sequences are very good. Film itself revolves around wrestling & boxing. "Anna" Suniel Shetty rocks. Just loved his presence in the entire film. There is one fight scene in the 2nd half when he overpowers all villains & saves his adopted son Sudeep. Reminded me of his younger days (1990s & early 2000s) when Suniel Shetty was in his prime. Overall good performances from Sushant Singh, Kabir Duhan Singh, Sharath Lohitashwa & the female lead Aakanksha Singh (started her career as TV actress with lead role in the serial "Naa Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha").
But somewhere I felt the movie failed to tick all the boxes.
1st half is very slow. In the 2nd half, story picks up pace but there are some scenes that are dragged unnecessarily.
Should appreciate Kiccha Sudeep's efforts & dedication to make that transformation of his body. The story is decent but not that great. It goes in a single flow from the beginning till the end. All actors have done well but story is not in the expected range. Trailer created a lot of hype but movie somewhere doesnt live up to that level of expectation.
One time watchable.
