The Cubbon was designed by British architect Richard Sankey. Later it was renamed on Cubbon who was longest-serving Governer. The Cubbon Park was officially named as Sri Chamarajendra Park in 1927 to mark the silver jubilee of Krishna Raj Wadayeer rule of Mysore
Even though the official name is now Sri Chamarajendra Park the people of Bangalore still refer it as the Cubbon Park. The 300 acres are famous among the city residents for a morning jog to evening walk. Metro connects this park. The high court, library, Vindhanasouda, Venkatappa Art Gallary, Visheshwaraiah technological museum and Aquarium are at walking distances from this place
